class outing... with 8 people?
before i start on what happened today, can i send a plea out to all you people out there who are reading this: please come and mug in school, preferably in the library. it's damn boring to mug alone there, and you get damn zonked out by 3:00. not to mention if the teachers aren't around and you can't find ayone you know you're stuck with questions you can't answer by yourself... so yeah please come and accompany me ok? i have three days left there, tomorrow (friday) and next thursday and next friday after econs.
ok about today... class outing was scheduled at 1:30, so what did i do from 8:00 to about 12:00? go library and mug lar... well that was the plan anyway. i was going to try and finish math today but was freaking tired. and on top of that i couldn't answer like 35% of the questions so i gave up, picked up a nice book, read and slept for a while. paul was pretty right, the library does put people to sleep, somehow.
lunch was bleh. eating is boring. then MRT to bedok. and i was wondering whether there was a last minute change of plans, since 1:30 rolled around and i still didn't see anybody. then mark and hui hui strolled up the escalator at about 1:40. damn when will you people ever learn to be on time? then was take bus, then walk to beach, and paul was carrying his birthday ball =D bounce bounce bounce XD walking along east coast park, i was wondering one thing: didn't the chalet over there close down quite some time ago? apparently it's still functioning since i saw people running in and out, and the gate was wide open.. weird huh?
and when on the beach, i dunno, i think people are concentrating too much on having fun that they forget about the real purpose of recreation. for me, going to the beach isn't about swimming in the sea (though of course if i was equipped i wouldn't pass up on that opportunity) playing beach volleyball or chase along the sand... those are fun for some people, but in doing so you're missing a great opportunity to just look out to sea. sure, the best time is probably in the evening to watch the sunset and early at dawn to watch sunrise (and mostly i watch sunrises) but even during the daytime just looking at the sea sorts of gives you an opportunity to either clear your mind or reflect and think about anything you like. seriously. next time go to an isolated spot, look out far into the distance. it's good for your mind. in fact i was doing that today, sitting on the groyne (did i get that correct?) until the rest called me over for photo-shoot ^_^"
and then was bluff. heh i brought 12 decks, but apparently we only used 2 decks. oh wellz. and i was gonna ask preston and sue whether the time they took to come down here is more than the time spent here... i barely saw them for more than an hour!
we were debating between pool and bowling, and we went to the alley... i was never very good with bowling, but today was extra bad... dunno why maybe it was the balls. 9 was too small and 10 was too large... don't they have something in between? and huihui the master of slow shots showed us it was possible to throw 4 balls in one frame... the ball travelled so slowly that the computer couldn't sense it! so that's up to three chances for a strike in a single frame! gee...
after that was dinner... everyone went back, so i just went with paul to S-11... and i think i really need to work on communication skillz. seems like i made an offensive remark when i didn't mean to. and then we were talking about the different cliques in our class. don't mean to say this but the divide this year is really large. i mean last year although there were separate groups we could still talk and have fun... this year it's like there's nothing to talk about if you're not in the group. did we do something wrong? is there anything we can do about the situation? i'd posted quite a lengthy essay on this MUCH earlier this year... i think it's lost somewhere in the class blog already.
hmmph... ok i should end here today since it's long enough already. i'm tempted to post the ONLY hollywood movie to make me tear slightly. yeah, and i can seriously tell you that's not common at all, even for asian flicks. maybe i watch too much. yeah, i guess i'll find an oppotunity to post my taste in movies and maybe why this one appealed to me... maybe tomorrow? in the meantime, please do come to library tomorrow so i won't be damn bored again. thanks.
